Storm’s Summer Training is underway as the club prepares for the new season.
Storm began Summer Training last Monday with the club looking forward to an exciting new season.
Sessions takes place at Carn Brea Leisure Centre Athletics track with all the club’s age groups back to training every Monday night.
“It was great to get back and see everyone again plus to welcome the new players who’ve come to join us over the summer,” said Head Coach David White.
The Senior players were straight back in with a sprint session to dispel any idea that it would be a nice easy welcome back!
“They put in a big effort and seemed to be enjoying it,” said White.
This season the club will play in the Senior South West Regional League and is pleased to welcome former Cornish Pirates Strength and Conditioning Coach Francis Sanderson along to sessions.
“We’re delighted to have Francis with us,” said White. “He was with the Pirates for six years and is now building his own fitness business called FAST (Fitness and Strength Training).
“We’re really excited to be working with him and I know the girls are going to get lots of benefit from his input.”
Sanderson will take the warm up and sprint part of this week’s session as Summer Training continues on Monday night at Carn Brea.
“We make sure we work hard but there’s got to be some fun aspect to summer training too and we ensure there’s plenty of that as well.
“We’ve got a huge season ahead with a team in the South West Regional League and two teams playing in the highest division in Cornwall, now really is the time to get a jump start on the season and take your netball to the next level,” added White.
