Cornwall’s top two teams met in the South West League in the penultimate round of matches before the Christmas break.
It was also a clash of the top two teams in South West Division 3 so far this season with both sides unbeaten ahead of the game.

The visitors took an early two goal lead only for Storm to pull it back. Once again Saints went ahead by three only to be pegged back again by the home team.
It was going to be that sort of game with the sides evenly matched and not prepared to give an inch.

However, the visitors took a 5 goal lead into the first quarter break.
It was to prove to be the way the game would unfold with the visitors winning each quarter by a few goals.
“We definitely weren’t playing as well as we have been doing this season.”
David White, Cornwall Storm Head Coach
“We were certainly in the game,” said Head Coach David White, “Although we definitely weren’t playing as well as we have been doing this season.”
Phoebe Lagor replaced Maia Adams at Goal Defence for the second half with Bryher Croker playing the second half at Centre.
“I thought Bryher had a great game and really stepped up when we put Phoebe back to GD,” said White

Ultimately though the game slipped away from Storm and they went down to their first defeat in the South West League but with Vivary, who were third, also losing the gap remains 8 points between 2nd and 3rd.

Bryher Croker was voted Player of the Match by the opposition.
