Bridgwater based Jupiter were the visitors as Storm welcomed new club sponsors Mining Searches UK on Sponsors Sunday.
The company, which is based just around the corner from Storm’s home base at Carn Brea, has joined the club in a three year sponsorship deal.
“We were delighted to welcome Donna, Paul and Becky from Mining Searches UK,” said club secretary Sadie White. “We hope they enjoyed their first experience of netball and we’re looking forward to seeing them at more Storm games.”
As far as the game goes, Storm took control from the start and never looked back racing to a 28 – 6 first quarter score.
Caroline Wadman made her Regional League debut for Storm and instantly struck up a great partnership with shooter Caitlyn Oates in the circle.

Captain Hannah Cox was driving the team forward at centre and Storm led 47 – 16 at half time.
Changes at half time as Cox replaced Fern Noott, who’d had a great first half at Wing Attack, Bryher Croker came on at Wing Defence while Phoebe Lagor moved to Centre.
Storm continued to press and moved to a 67 – 22 lead at three quarter time.
“We were playing very well,” said Head Coach David White. “We looked at some specifics at training with different combinations and tried to put them into practice in the game which I’m pleased to say we did.”

With White looking to give some players experience of the Regional League, Keira Green replaced Niamh Symons at Goal Keeper and Jemma Hamilton got a run out at Wing Attack in the final quarter.
I think this is probably our best performance of the season so far
David White – Cornwall Storm Head Coach
“I think this is probably our best performance of the season so far,” said White. “The score aside, I thought we played with really good structure, we were under control which we haven’t always been in previous games and there was a real togetherness demonstrated by everyone, a great squad mentality.

“I was delighted with Keira and Jemma who stepped in for their first taste of Regional League action and of course Caroline who fitted in perfectly in our attacking unit.”
Player Of The Match
Goal Defence Kirstin Lamb was voted Player Of The Match by the opposition.
“Kirstin thoroughly deserved her award today, some of her interceptions were incredible,” said White.
