Storm took part in a 20 strong Regional Pre-Season Tournament in Exeter.
The Annual Tournament is a pre-season warm up for teams from Regional Leagues 1, 2 and 3 South and North.
This year it took place at the University of Exeter and featured 20 teams from across the divisions.
Games were fast and furious and spilt into two 7 minute periods.
Storm started well with an 11-10 win against Babylon before losing by a goal in their second game, 9-8 to Titans Thunder.
A tight 13-11 win followed against last season’s Regional 2 Champions, Crossbow then a good performance but a 14-10 defeat against eventual tournament Runners Up Hucclecote rounded out the morning pool matches.
The afternoon saw Storm pitched into a group with the teams finishing 3rd in their morning pools.
The Cornish side started out with a narrow 15-17 defeat against Team Bath but followed this up with two wins, 12-10 against Titans Lightning and 15-8 against Almondsbury.
That meant Storm finished a very credible 9th place overall out of the 20 teams taking part.
“It was another very enjoyable tournament and certainly a worthwhile experience for us to pit ourselves against higher quality opposition from outside of Cornwall,” said Head Coach David White.
“There was some really good play from us and some frustrating moments as well but overall we should be pleased with how the day went and it was great preparation for what is set to be another exciting season.”
The South West Regional League season starts on Sunday 23rd September when Storm face an away trip to Titans Thunder.
