International Umpire Gary Burgess Talks To Storm!

Storm players and officials were given the chance to question one of the best umpires in the World when Gary Burgess dropped in for a chat.

David and Gary, who kindly came in to talk to the club whilst down on holiday!

Gary umpired the World Championship Final between Australia and New Zealand at the recent tournament in Singapore and had some entertaining stories to tell about what really happened at the finals.

Gary also talked about how he got involved in umpiring and what it takes to umpire at the highest level plus answered questions posed by the guests.

These included topics ranging from persistant infringement, how to deliver decisions in an appropriate manner, how critical positioning is through to some stories about the Superleague and the International teams.

Storm Head Coach David White, who arranged the session with Gary said; "This was one of the best 90 minutes I've sat through in ages! Gary was really entertaining and everyone who came thoroughly enjoyed listening to him talk."
