Storm Finish Fifth In Summer League!
Story: 20th August, 2009, 19:15 | Words: Storm NC | Photos: Andrew Trenoweth

Storm finished a very credible fifth in the first Cornwall Summer League.

Concluding with two matches, Storm lost 23-19 to Predators but beat Falcons
33-5 to guarantee a top 5 finish.

"Overall it's been a good experience," said Storm Coach David White. "We've managed to give lots of people court time and even gave a debut to another of our 13 year olds."

Evie-Mai Haggar was the junior player who made her senior debut when she played against Camborne Park.

"Evie-Mai played very well that night and hopefully the experience of playing with the seniors will help her this season."

"If you consider for most of the time we had 16, 17 and 18 year olds playing I think we did extremely well," said White. "All the clubs that finished above us are first division clubs so we've got to be pleased with that."

"The girls have all enjoyed getting on court but we're all really looking forward to the main league season which begins for us in November."
