Evie-Mai Makes Senior Debut!
Story: 22nd July, 2009, 23:59

Storm junior player Evie-Mai Haggar made her senior debut in this week's summer league match.

Evie-Mai, who's just turned 13, played Goal Attack and Goal Defence against Camborne Park as Storm ran out 36-10 winners.

"We're really pleased for Evie-Mai," said Storm Coach David White, "She certainly didn't look out of place out there and I thought she had a really good 40 minutes."

"She settled into the team really well and hopefully the experience will help her when she trials for the County Academy in September."

Storm fielded a side with six players between 13 and 17 years old as the club continues to use the summer league to give experience to its younger players.

Sadie White and Shannon Russell, who are used to playing together in the attacking circle, found themselves playing three quarters as Goal Keeper and Goal Defence!

"I thought it would be interesting to make the players play different positions," said White. "We did the same with the other players throughout the game and they all enjoyed the challenge. It's good for them to be versatile!"
