Storm 3 got their league season underway and held their own against the current undefeated league leaders in Division 6.

The visitors pulled out a two goal lead in the first quarter, winning 7-5, then added an extra three goal cushion to lead 16-11 at half time.

With Storm playing two 13 year olds the team fought back to draw the third quarter 5-5 but Predators pulled away in the last to take the match 33-23.

Storm Coach David White was pleased with how the team played in their opening game; "It's the first time the team has played together and whilst the score shows that we lost there were lots of promising things happening on court and hopefully we'll show an improvement on last season."

"It was pretty physical in places but our girls held their own and when they've played a few games together hopefully they'll start to gel as a team."
