Storm 1 eased into second place in Division 2 after a devasting first quarter against St Agnes, who started the night in second place themselves.
With the same line up that started against league leaders St Austell last week, Storm fired themselves into an 18-6 first quarter lead and set themselves up for the victory to keep their promotion hopes alive.

With Betsy Willey at Goal Shooter and Sadie White at Goal Attack in form under the posts and Amy Clews feeding some great balls into the circle, Storm continued to pour pressure on the visitors.
St Agnes came back into the game in the second quarter though and Storm narrowly took it 12-10 to lead 30-16 at half time.
Emma Heller moved back to Goal Keeper for the third period replacing Lisa Budd and Sharon Teague came on at Centre with Laura Clews moving to Wing Defence.
Storm stretched their lead in the third quarter as the defensive trio of Emma Heller, Maggie Moore and Laura Clews turned over numerous balls that the Storm attack were able to capitalise on as Betsy Willey missed just one shot in the period
Lisa Budd came back on to replace Heller for the final quarter and picked off five interceptions as Storm edged away.
Sadie White shot 7 out of 7 as Storm took the match 59-34 to move into second place in the table.
Head Coach David White was pleased with the win; "We didn't expect it be by such a big margin but once we'd won that first quarter as convincingly as we did I knew it was going to be difficult for them to get back in the game.
"I don't think we played as well as we did against St Austell last week but there were lots of good things that happened. I thought the movement in the shooting circle was excellent, Amy, Laura and Sharon's feeding was great and in defence Maggie, Laura, Emma and Lisa gave us loads of extra attacking chances by turning over numerous interceptions."
Storm 1's next game is the return game with St Agnes in April and White is expecting it to be much closer next time. "They were missing a couple of key players so I imagine if they get them back for the next match it's going to be very close but we'll be working on a few things in training over the next couple of weeks so hopefully we can put them into practice in the game." |
