Storm 1 moved into the promotion places in Division Two with a win at home to Liskeard Tigers.
Having lost the reverse fixture at Liskeard earlier in the season by just three goals Storm knew it was going to be a tough game but a blistering third quarter enabled the team to avenge that narrow defeat.

With Lisa Budd unavailable Storm started with a defensive line up of Emma Heller at Goal Keeper, Maggie Moore at Goal Defence and Laura Clews at Wing Defence.
The opening quarter started tight with both teams exchanging goals before Storm edged away to take the period 12-7.
Storm took a low scoring second quarter 8-7 to lead 20-14 at half time but a powerful start to the second half saw the home side set themselves up for the win.
Storm scored eight goals without reply at the start of the third quarter and continued on to take the period 15-3.
Shooter Sadie White suffered an ankle injury in the final 90 seconds of the last quarter and came off so as not to aggravate it further.
Olivia Ballard came on in the centre as Sharon Teague took over at Goal Attack and even managed to get herself on the scoresheet!
A comfortable 11-6 last quarter in the end and Storm took the win to move into second place in the league.
Head Coach David White was delighted with the outcome; "We knew we were going to have to battle for this one and Liskeard made it difficult for us at times.
"It wasn't our most fluid performance although I thought defensively we were very good, Betsy and Sadie's shooting was excellent again and some of Amy's feeds into the circle were great.
"We struggled a little coming through mid court at times although a quick chat during the quarter break seemed to rectify that and I felt we were trying to force the ball in to the circle sometimes but the girls soon put that right and started playing with a bit more patience."
So the win lifts Storm into second place for the time being but St Agnes, who are back in fourth, have three games in hand and will have played those three games by the time Storm play their next match which is at home to Predators 2 on Wednesday, March 10th. |
