Storm 1 put themselves in a strong position as the club bids for promotion to Cornwall Division 1 at the first attempt.

With the same starting line up that went out against St Agnes in their previous match, Storm knew this one would be an altogether tougher affair with the home team welcoming back their missing first team players.
Both sides knew a win would leave them in second and strong contenders for promotion while the losing team would have it all to do in the final two matches.
St Agnes took the initiative early on and won the first quarter by a solitary goal, 11-10 as Storm failed to settle into their stride.
Storm bounced back to win the second quarter 10-7 but were still struggling to feed the circle safely.
Sharon Teague came on at centre at half time, Laura Clews dropped back to Wing Defence while Emma Heller, playing against her former club, replaced Lisa Budd at Goal Keeper.
Betsy Willey and Sadie White swapped positions in the shooting circle and the changes seemed to have an immediate effect as Storm raced ahead at the start of the quarter.
By the end of the period Storm had stretched their lead to 31-23 thanks to an 11-5 quarter win.
Storm were starting to feed the circle much better now and extended their lead in the fourth quarter eventually winning 13-10 to take the game 44-33.
Head Coach David White pleased with the result; "Very happy obviously to have won the game although we all agreed afterwards it certainly wasn't our best performance of the season by a long way.
"However, at this stage of the season we just need to keep winning games and sometimes they won't be pretty but we knew if we could grind out a result here we'd put ourselves in with a real chance of getting that second promotion spot."
"What did please me though was that even though we weren't as flowing as we have been recently we kept out heads and showed great spirit to battle away and get the result we needed."
Storm are now second in the table on 58 points, three points ahead of St Agnes and both teams have two games left to play.
White is not taking anything for granted in those final two games; "We've got to go to St Just on Wednesday and then in two weeks time we play them again. They may be bottom of the league but we know both of those games are going to be incredibly tough and we need to be focused to ensure we don't slip up."
Storm's remaining two games are Wednesday 14 April at St Just at 8pm and Wednesday 28th April against St Just at Redruth School at 8.30pm.
Meanwhile St Agnes face St Austell away on the 21st April and then have Predators away on the 26th April. |
