Ruth Lovegrove at Junior League

Storm's two Under 14 teams were in action at weekend two of the Cornwall Junior League.

Hurricanes were without Martha Hilliard and Laura Butler, who were both unavailable so Maddie Sycamore stepped in to play.

First opponents Bodmin 2 actually conceded the game so Hurricanes got all five points but the match went ahead with a mix of Bodmin players.

Hurricanes got off to a slow start and took four minutes to get a goal on the scoresheet.

Once they did though they settled down and with Rebecca Hocking shooting 4 out of 4 and Laura Budd adding a further 3 goals they led 7-3 at half time.

Rebecca Pearse and Ruth Lovegrove in the defensive circle took numerous interceptions as Hurricanes took the second half 9-1 to win 16-4.

Evie-Mai Haggar suffered a slight ankle sprain in the first match so moved to Goal Keeper in the second match against St Agnes 2 with Ruth Lovegrove moving out on court to play Wing Defence.

Rebecca Hocking scored 19 of the goals as Hurricanes ran out 21-1 winners.

Tornadoes knew this was going to be a tough weekend with St Austell 1 to come after a match against Predators.

With the first half level at 2-2, Predators won the second 5-1 as Tornadoes struggled to get the ball into the shooters.

Stacey Bradley had two good games at Goal Defence and 11 year old Evie Sandow continued to score at Goal Attack.

Tornadoes lost 16-2 against St Austell 1 but every player worked hard and did well against a strong team.
