Storm Under 14's have won themselves a place in the Preliminary 'South' Round of the National Under 14 Club's Championship after finishing second in the Cornwall Qualifying Tournament.

The girls played five matches, winning four, and playing some excellent netball in the process.

The last match of the day proved to be the crunch game with both Storm and Penryn still able to take the runners up spot and with it the second qualification place for the Regional Tournament.

It was goal for goal until Penryn took a 5-3 advantage but Storm hit back to lead 8-5 at half time.

Storm then turned on the pressure and won the second half 11-4 and the match 19-9 to finish as tournament runners up.

Storm Head Coach, David White, was delighted: "I'm so pleased for these girls, they're such a great bunch to coach and they've been working so hard to get to where they are. They've done themselves proud and they've done the club proud today."

Club secretary, Sadie White, says it's a big achievement: "We only formed our junior club two and a half years ago and to think how much we've achieved in that short space of time is brilliant."

Storm will now line up with teams from East Devon, West Devon and Somerset at the Prelimary 'South' Round on Sunday, March 21st at Penryn College (TISA).
