Storm players will be starting pre-season training shortly as preparation for the new 2015/2016 season commences on Monday 22 June.
There’ll be a new face in the coaching set up this season though as Cornish Pirates Assistant Strength and Conditioning coach Ben Gregor will lead the fitness sessions.
Following on from last year’s coaching session when the Pirates visited Storm the rugby club’s conditioning team are assisting with Storm’s pre-season training.
“We’re delighted the Cornish Pirates have offered for Ben to come and run the conditioning side of our training,” said Head Coach David White. “It’s going to be such a huge bonus to have a professional like Ben who’s used to working with full time athletes running our fitness sessions and I must thank Ian who’s made all this happen for us.”

Ben will lead the pre-season sessions and then will take the first team squad for weekly conditioning sessions when the players move back inside in August.
The Director of Rugby at the Cornish Pirates, Ian Davies, said it will be beneficial for both parties. “Some people may see this link up as quite strange but in reality the coaching process is the same in all sports.
“As such I’m sure Ben will develop his coaching skills while working with Storm and I’m certain the players will benefit from his expertise in strength and conditioning,” he said.
Outdoor fitness sessions take place every Monday evening on the Athletics Track at Carn Brea Leisure Centre:
U13 Junior Players – 5:30 – 6:45pm
Over 14s & Seniors: 7:00 – 8:15pm
