Storm kept up the pressure on the Division 4 leaders with a 54-17 win in the return match away to Silhouettes.
With Tamara Hick unavailable Kerry Hawkins started the game at Goal Defence with Jenny Evans switching to Wing Defence as Storm took control of the game from the beginning powering into a 13-2 lead at the first quarter break.

From there Storm piled on the pressure to take each quarter and move four points behind Lastonet with two games in hand.
"Consistency was important," said Storm Coach David White. "Apart from a short spell in the second quarter when we let them into the game a bit I thought we showed that very well."
Storm took the game with quarter scores of 13-2, 14-8, 13-4 and 14-3.
" I thought our attack functioned very well and the way we brought the ball through the court was much better.
"Around the circle Sadie and Gemma worked hard to make the most of our possession and Jenny Evans at Wing Defence certainly gave us a different attacking option through the court. That coupled with the movement off the ball from Sharon and Henri meant we created a lot of chances."
Add to that a solid defensive display and it was a good all-round performance from the team currently lying in second place but they know nothing is decided with four weeks of the season remaining.
Lastonet, Storm and St Agnes are the only sides that can reach the two promotion places now and they're all involved in matches against each other over the next month.
"We've got three games left but all three are going to be very, very difficult and the fact that the last two games against St Agnes could be a case of winner goes up makes it all the more exciting."
Storm 1's next match is the return game at home to fourth placed Bumble Bees on Friday 11th April at 8:30pm before a double against St Agnes on Thursday 17th at Richard Lander and Friday 25th at Redruth. |
