Storm 2 finished their season with defeat away to Lastonet 4 who guaranteed promotion with the win.

Missing two key, influential players in Captain Saira O'Dwyer and Goal Attack Emma Vardy Storm fielded five under 16 players but just couldn't quite do enough to round the season off with a win.

Beth Andrew stood in at Goal Attack against Lastonet

Lastonet led from the start as Storm found it difficult to get the ball to their shooters.

"We didn't move the ball down court well at all," said Storm Coach David White. "Too many basic errors in our play ultimately led to our downfall unfortunately."

"We definately missed Saira and Emma although Beth did well standing in at Goal Attack and got a few good goals we couldn't get the ball to our shooters enough."

"It was disappointing to end the season with a defeat but the girls should be proud of what they've achieved, I'm certainly proud of them."

"Third is the best position our second team has ever finished and it's a great comeback considering we were dead and buried at Christmas!"

"It's been a roller coaster season following our seconds but I wouldn't miss it for the world, they're a great bunch and are going to get better the more they play."

"I'm not going to single anyone out but there are some players who've really stepped up and taken their chance this season and I hope they continue to work hard to improve themselves."
