Storm fought all the way to keep their unbeaten record intact in a good, competitive match away to Lastonet.

16 year old Bianca Lincoln made her 2nd appearance for the first team alongside Lisa Budd, who was making her 30th, with Jenny Evans switching to Wing Defence.

Lastonet started the stronger but Storm rallied at the end of the first quarter to edge a slender 9-8 lead.

Storm then took control of the second quarter and started to pull away winning the period 13-7 to lead 22-15 at half time.

Tamara Hick came on at half time at Wing Defence as Jenny Evans moved to Goal Defence in place of Bianca Lincoln.

Lastonet won the third quarter 9-8 to give Storm a six goal cushion going into the last.

It proved to be enough as Storm went on to win the final period 10-6 to take the match 40-30 and move up to third place in the table.

"It was very pleasing to get the win," said Storm Coach David White. "We certainly had to work all the way to the end of the game."

"We gave Bianca another half in the first team to gain some more experience and she played very well as did Tamara when she came on in defence."

"It was good to see the girls really have to work and come out of the game with a win."

Storm 1's next match is the return game away to Falcons on Thursday 28th February at 8:30pm.
