Rachel Cosier kept her position in the team after her good performance against Lastonet.
Storm started strong and led 10-5 after the first quarter thanks to a 100%, 8 out of 8 shooting conversion from Shannon Russell.
Harriers fought back in the second quarter and won the period 6-4 but Storm still led
14-11 at half time.
Beth Andrew replaced Charlotte Jackson at centre as Storm took the third 8-7 to lead
22-18 going into the last 15 minutes.
"We'd made a really good start which we didn't do in our last game," said Storm Coach David White. "We let it slip a bit in the second but when we were leading by four going into the last we knew we just had to keep it solid to get the victory."
The final quarter was an 8 all draw giving Storm the win 30-26.
"Rachel came back on in the fourth and I brought Charlotte back as well as we needed to make sure we supplied our shooters with good, safe ball to make the most of every chance.
"I thought overall we moved the ball down court really well tonight. It's something we've been working on in training and we managed to get it from our defence to our shooters quickly and accurately."
The win means Storm can finish no lower than third but still have an outside chance of gaining the second promotion place but that's dependant on other results.
"We'll certainly give it all we've got in the last game but the fact that we've finished two places higher than last season is a great improvement and I'm proud of how the girls have been working and training since Christmas to achieve that."
Storm 2's final game of the season is away at Lastonet 4 on Wednesday 23rd April at 6.45pm. |
