Storm continued their unbeaten season with an impressive away win at Falcons.

Storm had to get over a shaky first two minutes when Falcons raced to a 3-0 lead after both Storm shooters missed their opening attempts on goal.

From then on though Storm took control and romped to victory to close the gap at the top of the table.

Storm took the first quarter 16-7 and added another 16 in the second to lead 32-12 at half time thanks to an almost error free shooting period from Gemma Irwin and Sadie White.

Wing Defence Tamara Hick came off four minutes from the end of the half after sustaining an ankle injury so Emma Vardy made her first team debut.

With Tamara still not recovered enough to take to the court Emma stayed on at Wing Attack with Henri Sloan moving back to Wing Defence for the third quarter which proved to be Storm's best of the game winning 19-4.

"Emma did really well when she came on, said Storm Coach David White. "She wasn't expecting to play but slotted in at Wing Attack very nicely."

"We decided to keep Tamara off for the third quarter as we've got an important game next week and I'd rather she was fit for that so it wasn't worth risking putting her straight back on as we were so far in front."

Sadie White twisted her ankle late in the fourth quarter as Storm coasted to a 12-3 period win to take the match 63-19.

"It was a good performance again and there were some things that we've been trying in training that we put into practice for the first time tonight and they worked."

"I thought defensively Lisa Budd had a very strong game and once Lisa had turned the ball over we moved it down court well and created a lot of space to play in."

"Tamara had a great game at Wing Defence, I was really pleased with her play tonight and her ankle doesn't seem as bad as we first thought because she went back on for the fourth quarter without any reaction so she'll be fine for next week."

Storm 1's next match is the return game at home to league leaders Lastonet on Friday 7th March at 8:30pm.
