A blistering third quarter won this tight Division 4 game for Storm who trailed at the first quarter and half time breaks.

The first half was close with the Bees just edging the first period 9-8 and then taking the second by a solitary goal to lead 19-17 at half time.

"We were making a lot of sloppy, unforced errors in the first half and were getting punished every time we lost the ball," said Storm Coach David White.

Storm made some changes at half time with Jenny Evans moving from Goal Defence to Wing Defence and Kerry Hawkins coming on at Goal Defence.

The changes seemed to work as Storm had their best quarter of the game winning 15-1 to lead 32-20 going into the last 15 minutes.

"We had some words at half time and the girls knew they had to go out and play much better than they had been."

"To their credit every single one of them responded and we had an amazing 15 minutes."

"Kerry had a great second half and they looked like a different team, I just wish they wouldn't leave it till 30 minutes into a match to show that they can play!"

Play was stopped for two minutes after Sadie White took a knock on her left hand.

"She's got her fingers strapped up at the moment and it was very painful for her at the time but I think she should be ok for the next game as it's not for another ten days."

The final quarter ended 11-11 but it was enough to give Storm a 43-31 win and all five points.

"We would also like to say a huge thank you to Debbie Ashworth who umpired for us tonight and donated her match fee to our support of the Precious Lives Appeal. Thank you very much!"

Storm 1's next match is away to Silhouettes 2 on Monday 31st March at 8.30pm.
